Happy Meal Spotlight | RID Strongarm

02.26.2017 – There have been unknown characters in the world of Transformers. For the 2015 Robots in Disguise series Bumblebee would be the most visible character, since he’s the leader of the pack when he was introduced in the very first episode.

But Bee is the not the only Autobot who travelled with him going back to Earth. Strongarm, a rookie cadet was also introduced in the series. This Autobot is a ‘she’ and was included in the new Happy Meal toys for this month in Australia!

Strongarm is Bumblebee’s apprentice/partner introduced in the 2015 Robots in Disguise series. She is a member of the Off World Zone Security Administration, who is a straight arrow by-the-rules approach and a newbie Autobot getting experience from Bumblebee in their adventures.

The recent Transformers: Robots in Disguise series, where adapted b McDonald’s produced as a Happy Meal. It was first introduced in 2015 with different kind of gimmicks. This was followed b wearable masks for kids both released in Southeast Asia, while a new set of characters where released for 2017 first for Australia and likely that Southeast Asia market will follow suit.

Strong-Armed and Ready

For those unfamiliar with Strongarm from the 2015 Robots in Disguise series the actual toy does transform and she takes a vehicle form of a made up Police SUV. The Happy Meal toys produced in 2015 and for this year does not transform. Strongarm was not part of the 2015 toys that was available as part of the Happy Meal toys when it was first introduced in Southeast Asia.

But for 2017 she is part of the roster that includes Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Grimlock and Drift which was available for McDonald’s Australia. For this new set all figures carry swords and oversized missile launching weapons and that’s basically it.

Unmovable Autobot

The five Happy Meal toys have very articulation as the legs are fixed, but the arms are articulated and no elbow joints. Even the head does not move but good enough to have details and design of the character is incorporated in the figure.

So far there’s nothing much interesting with this Happy Meal toy other than carry an oversized spring loaded launcher tailor-made to her ‘police colors’ similar to Grimlock having a similar type of weapon.

Overall the declined quality of the Happy Meal toys over the years mostly highlighted for the ‘Transformers’ Brand doesn’t look good. This was SUPPOSED TO TRANSFORM, but ending up being mostly a static figure that have huge spring loaded weapons and not much to offer.

Though Strongarm having been an unknown character to most fans that grew up with the brand would just pass on her, but younger fans would know who she was and it would be cooler if she can transform too.

Unfortunately she doesn’t change into her vehicle morde.
